I will stay here from about 17.00 until 19.00 or 21.00 depending on how tired I am and if Aurora Borealis is out there. Because sure I won't want to miss it to swimm underneath Aurora Borealis!
Stay tuned for an update (as this is a preset ;-) ) In the meantime, who knows you can spot me here ;-) Alive and swimming! I cant see you waving back to me. ;-) There is free WiFi so who knows we can have a wave date LOL!

The Blaa Loonid as Icelandic call it, is in fact the outstream of Reykjavik hot water system. Most if not all Icelandic buildings are heated with the abundance of hot water springs Iceland has. Even the streets of Reykjavik are heated with this geothermal water, so they never become slippery in wintertime. They use natural resources as much as possible. No place on Earth seem to live in such ecological harmony as Iceland. At least that is what I suspect. Maybe the truth is different, but I doubt it...
The blueish milky color of the water in Blue Lagoon comes from the minerals. The water is all natural volcanic thermal water. It is situated on a (currently) active volcanic ridge, the earth here rumbles since last Saturday quite often, on Sunday even 18 earthquakes have been detected in this area, whilest the 4 weeks prior only 5 were detected. It makes you think... From the water many cosmetic/medical health and body products are made. I am curious to those.
Also, I really can fancy this idea to go swimm outside in a cold place. I don't know what weather it will be when I am there, but sure not much higher than 10 degrees Celcius. In the north they have been surprised by a 2 meter layer of snow already. I have not to worry, Blue Lagoon supplies bathing robes, who knows even thermal too. One time before I have been swimming in warm water while it snowed. It is an amazing feeling to feel snow tickling your nose while your body is all warm and comfy. Imagine this to happen in a wonderfull area, where the Earth releases steam all the time, where the Earth beneath you is cooking and rumbling, lavastreams are passing by closer (yet still far enough to not get burned) underneath you than anywhere else. It is a funny but also weird idea. Iceland is one of the youngest countries in the world, it still is in progress of developing. It will until the many many volcanos go extinct. Until that moment, it will remain a time bomb. And sure it scares me, and in some point of view I risk my life going there. It is a matter of time before Kafla erupts and it will have terrible consequences. But then again I know I would die in the place I love the best. No regrets, if this happens to me, I die in peace. Honestly. So not a reason to not go. :-) And please do not bring me back to Holland if I win this lottery to die here. Take good care of my cats, never seperate them. Never... my only wish...
So, going to the Blaa Loonid is the first meeting with the geothermic/volcanic nature of Iceland. :-)
Let me be free, floating on the heat of our Earth.
Silky Waters all surrounding me, nourish me, cleanse me.
From the deepest cauldrons of the Earth.
Free I will be, this Milky Waters and me.
