The flight to Keflavik is operated by the very same plane as last visit and it is weird to know I am in the same seat as well. But this flight has for once been very smoothly, only above the Isles of Skye we had little turbulence. We landed before schedule in Iceland. It was rainfogged and on the screen I saw the heigth of the plane but no land below me. I once landed in Denmark with dense fog, which was weird, it just landed in the fog but had to trust the pilots skills to go the right way. Nothing was to be seen, also not when landed. But... Soon enough I saw the amazing volcanic grounds of Keflavik and as usual with 20 minutes I was out of the airport. Including buying some desperately needed skyr ;-)
I choose now the bus service of Iceland Excursions over Flybus, hoping it would be a bit faster. It was if we were not stucked in a traffic jam. I arrived shortly at my hotel Skjaldbreið. It was not as good as Natura of course, but it was downtown, and I went shopping straight away. I decided to take some dried fish with me, which turned out to be very addictive. But... I have to wait until I return next week to buy more. At night there supposed to be very intense northern lights. However the eather was anything but helpfull to see them. What a blast... And the forecast isnt looking too well either. Nevertheless I spend some moments at night to just go out and see if there wasnt any place at all in Reykjavik to reveal them. But without any luck I went for a bit of sleep as I had to get up early to catch the bus to Mjódd to go up north....
So that is my first day which has nothing much to tell so far. Nor did I take any photo's. So this is just a boring little blog :-)
